VFI wishes to recruit a Scientist to join and strengthen our Research team in Lausanne.

  • Participate in R&D projects including hands-on bench work
  • Conduct research to develop new formulations and processes
  • Analyze data, write reports and present findings to the team and external partners
  • Propose novel, scientifically sound research ideas
  • Write and lead publication of manuscripts
  • Present data at project meetings and scientific conferences
  • Ph.D. and at least one Post-Doctoral experience in Life Sciences
  • Experience in adjuvant R&D including (all required):
    • Association of TLR agonists and C-type lectins with adjuvant systems
    • At least one of the following vaccine targets: influenza, COVID-19 or Tuberculosis
    • mRNA / LNP vaccine formulation
  • Technical skills:
    • Liposome and emulsion manufacturing
    • Physicochemical characterization of colloids
    • Analytical chemistry (HPLC, UPLC)
  • Excellent standard of both written and spoken English
  • Experience in writing scientific manuscripts, grant applications, patents
    • At least three first-authored manuscripts
    • Experience with international contracts (including with the European Commission, the National Institutes of Health, or the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) highly desirable
    • Experience with patents and IP highly desirable
  • Experience and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel regularly and represent VFI in international meetings worldwide.
  • Main place of work will be Lausanne (Switzerland) with regular travels to Geneva (Switzerland)
